Dear Sheldon residents:

Please note the new location for Sheldon election day voting on November 6th:

ALL VOTING will take place at the St. John Neumann parish hall (Weber Hall)  991 Centerline Rd. (corner of Centerline and North Sheldon Rds) .  The polls will be open 6am-9pm. 

There will also be the following  Town proposition on the ballot:

The proposition was proposed by the Sheldon Town Board out of a concern that there would be a deficiency in knowledge if the Town Supervisor and the Town Clerk are both replaced in the same election term.  Changing the Town Clerk to a two-year term January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2021 and then reverting back to a four (4) year term effective January 1, 2022 would put the Town Supervisor and Town Clerk on different election cycles. 

NOTICE TO TOWN OF SHELDON VOTERS:

There will be a proposition on the November 6th ballot which reads:

The Term of Town Clerk shall be for a term of (2) years effective January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2021 and four (4) year terms effective January 1, 2022 thereafter.

Notice of Assessor - Photo Filing of Properties
Please be advised that the Town Assessor will be taking photos of all parcels and properties in the Town of Sheldon over the next few months.  The Assessor will be in a County vehicle.

NOTICE TOWN OF SHELDON

Public Hearing Date for 2019 Budget

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Preliminary Budget for the Town of Sheldon for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2019 is complete and on file in the Town Clerk’s Office at 1380 Centerline Road, Strykersville, NY where it is available for inspection during regular business hours.

FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Sheldon will meet and review the Preliminary Budget and hold a Public Hearing thereon at the Town Hall, on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. 

At such time anyone may be heard in favor or against any items therein contained. 

Pursuant to Sec 113 of the Town Law, the proposed salaries of the Town Officials are hereby certified as follows:  Supervisor $7,500.00, Councilperson(4) $2,685.00 each, Highway Superintendent $56,198.70, Town Clerk $19,022.67, Justices(2) $10,231.81 each, Tax Collector $3,069.18.

       Information on the proposed rehabilitation facility at the site of the former Sheldon Elementary School will be posted : An Application for a special use permit and site plan review for a chemical dependency rehabilitation facility and adult workforce development program made by Mark Herman and Joseph Parker.  The property is located at 2588 School Road, Varysburg, NY 14167 (site of the former Sheldon Elementary School)
