VARYSBURG WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Varysburg Water System Improvements will be received, by the Town of Sheldon, at the office of the Sheldon Town Hall, 1380 Centerline Road, Strykersville, NY 14145 until 11:00 a.m. local time on January 19, 2015, at which time and place the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project consists of Contract A: Water Main Replacement and Contract B: Water Storage Tank.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Town of Sheldon, 1380 Centerline Road, Strykersville, NY 14145. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Wednesday 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.
Bidding Documents also may be examined and obtained at the office of the Engineer, Chatfield Engineers, 2800 Dewey Avenue, Rochester, NY 14616, on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above, upon payment of a deposit of $100.00 for each set. Bidders who return full sets of the Bidding Documents in good condition (suitable for re‐use) within 30 days after receipt of Bids will receive a full refund. Non‐Bidders, and Bidders who obtain more than one set of the Bidding Documents, will receive a refund of $50.00 for documents returned in good condition within the time limit indicated above. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to “Town of Sheldon”. Upon request and receipt of the document deposit indicated above plus a non‐refundable shipping charge, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. A pre‐bid conference will be held at 11:00 a.m. local time on January 12, 2015 at the Varysburg Fire Department, 2446 Route 20A, Varysburg, NY 14167. Attendance at the pre‐bid conference is highly encouraged but is not mandatory.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
